Acid in air
Thousands of Tokyo residents suffered from bloodshot, painful or swollen eyes during the last two days because of a strong sulfuric acid content in intermittent misty rains, officials said today. The acid content, 20 j times higher than normal, icame from vehicle and industrial emissions discharged into the atmosphere, Tokyo municipal government pollution experts said. — Tokyo, July 5.
