Milk subsidy to remain
(N.Z. Presss Association) Wellington: The Government had no plans to remove the subsidy jon milk, said the Minister of Finance (Mr Rowling). He was replying to a i question from Mr L. W. : Gandar (Nat., Ruahine), which alleged that 10 cents-a-pint milk coupons had i been printed in Palmerston ; North before the Budget. Mr Rowling said that if these coupons had been printed, the person responsible for their printing must have been “round the twist.”
Australian trip.—The Hastings apprentice. M. Burridge leaves for . Australia on July 14. He will ride for R. Skase, of Mornington, for a month. Burridge I has no intention of staying there any longer. It will be. he says, “more or less a busman’s holiday.” , . Tosh dead.—The Hastings jumper, Tosh, died last Saturday morning. The gelding was returning to the enclosure after light exercise before the races when he collapsed.
