Singles win for Laver

Laver, of Australia, won the singles championship of the third annual Alan King-Caesar’s Palace tennis classic on Sunday with an easy straight sets victory over M. Riessen, 6-2, 6-2, United Press International reported. Laver, at 35 the oldest player in the $150,000 tournament received $30,000 in silver and the keys to a $21,000 car. Riessen’s reward as runner-up was $15,000.
