Boy killed in fall

(N.Z. Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH. A 14-year-old Auckland boy was killed on Mt Ruapehu at 10.30 on Sunday morning while climbing down a rock face about a mile from the Chateau. He was David John Prince, a pupil at Northcote College. The boy was reported to have been climbing down a 15ft rock face near a road leading off the Bruce Road. He apparently took hold ol a large rock on the face, but slipped and fell. The rock came loose and hit him, killing him instantly. His companion, another 14-year-old boy, summoned help from the Chateau.
