OBITUARY Dr Muriel Bell

1 (N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN. May 5. Dr Muriel Emma Bell, 'a noted nutritionist, has died at her home in Dunedin, aged 76. Dr Bell was widely known for her work in nutrition and nutrional research and when she retired in 1964 she was director of the Medical Research Council’s nutrition research unit in Dunedin. She worked with the unit for 26 years. In 1929 Dr Bel! was grantled the William Gibson research scholarship by the Royal Society of Medicine in (London. For three years Dr

Dr Bell married Mr James-; t Saunders in the 1930 s and after his death married Mr, ■ Alfred Earnest Hefford, an ■ inspector of fisheries; he died in 1957.
