Christians’ seminar
About 800 students from Christian movements within tertiary institutions throughout New Zealand are expected to take part in a week of discussion on moral and controversial subjects at Lincoln College from May 12 to May 17.
The discussion will take place at the thirty-ninth annual conference of the Tertiary Students’ Christian Fellowship (formerly the Inter-Varsitv Fellowship). Four overseas speakers will lecture, and lead discussion: Dr J. Court, a psychologist from Flinders University, South Australia, and a moral polemicist, who will include pornography in his topics; Mr M. Griffiths, general director of the Overseas Missionary Fellowship, and Christian author, who will be the evening speaker; Dr J. Houston, a geographer, and principal of Regent College, Vancouver: and the Rev. D. Pawson. Biblical expositor, and minister of the Guildford Baptist Church, Surrey. Other topics for seminars are social service, missionary responsibility, personal evangelism. education, “the birds and the bees.” technological [society, science and religion, and ministry in the 70’s.
The students will also stage a humorous open-air parody of the Christchurch Commonwealth Games.
