Sorrenson. professor of history at the University of Auckland and a leading African scholar, said vesterday that he had been refused a visa to visit South Africa next month He planned to visit several universities. No reasons have been given, but Professor Sorrenson is president of the New Zealand Citizens’ Association for Racial Equality, and played a leading role in the cancellation of the proposed Sor.ngbok Rugby tour to New Zealand last year. He is at present the Smuts Fellow at Trinity College, Cambridge.
