More soft drinking
New Zealanders drank 18 per cent more soft drink last year than in the previous year, but still drink less soft drink than Australians. New Zealanders have drunk 7.7 gallons of soft drink each, which is less than half Australia’s per capita figure.
) These figures were disclosed last evening at the iopening of the annual coniference of the New Zealand Soft Drink and Cordial Manu- | facturers’ Association in Christchurch.
The president of the association (Mr M. A. Lewis), said that the increase in soft ! drink consumption last year [was the biggest in 10 years, jand reflected the high rate of spending. i Soft drink consumption in [New Zealand last year [reached 23 million gallons, 'said Mr Lewis.
