Castle Hill plan
The development of a holiday and winter sports resort at. Castle Hill would go ahead, but on a modified scale, the general manager i Mr S. E. Slatter) told a meeting of the Central Canterbury Electric Power Board on Tuesday.
Mr Slatter said he had had (discussions with the promoters. the Reid Development Company. The scheme would be developed more slowly than was originally proposed, and the new plans would be submitted to the Malvern County Council for townplanning approval. Asked when it was proposed to go ahead. Mr Slatter said that there was nothing definite, but the fact that it now owned some of the property had affected the company’s thinking. The board is interested in Castle Hill, because its power supplv could b? the kev to a supply to station properties in the district.
