Promotions in order
The Queen, the sovereign head of the Order of St John in New Zealand, has centered the following promotions and admissions: Promotion to the grade of commander (brother), A. Sutherland (Timaru); promotion to the grade of officer (brother), D.J.R. May (Christchurch); admission to the grade of serving brother, G.A. Brown (Christchurch); and G.E. McDermott (Oamaru); admission to the grade of serving sister, Mrs E. M. Reeves (Motueka), Mrs A. M. Shelton (Timaru), and Mrs M. L. Todd (Westport).
The Governor-General (Sir Denis Blundell) has approved the award of a priory vote of thanks to Mr G. W. Daines (Blenheim), Mr and Mrs F. R. Scott and family (Christchurch), and Mr J. G. Thomson (Westport).
