' No case of pillaging'
The Minister of Railways (Mr McGuigan) said that he was concerned about recent reports of pillaging of goods in railway yards and at ports. Since he had been the Minister of Railways no single case had been drawn to h is attention, he said. Anyone who had such a complaint ’o make should refer it to him and it would be investigated thoroughly.
Goods were often pillaged before they reached New Zealand and he suggested that accusers might well make sure iust where the pillaging took 1 place.
