Subsidy for students
NZ Preus Association) WELLINGTON. April 22. Improved Government sidies for student amenity buildings at teachers’ colleges and technical institutes were approved today by the Cabinet. The Minister of Education (Mr Amos) said the. Government would meet the full cost of cafeterias, commonrooms and offices up to a floor space limit of five square feet for every full-, time student (or the equivalent). Thereafter there would be a Sl-for-$l subsidy up to a limit of 10 square feet a student. As well the Cabinet had agreed to consider loan assistance where a student association was unable to finance its share of the cost of the amenities.
