West Germans, for the; first time, have become the: world's beer-drinking cham-l pions, by drinking 145.4! litres of beer (256 pints) each : in 1973. beating the Czecho-: slovakians by one pint. The! previous title-holders, Bel-: giurn. fell back to 140 litres! per capita, followed by Aus-; tralia with 127.2 litres and New Zealand with 124 litres.; —Bonn. April 19.
