TJie front to the west of the country is moving slowly away; the depression west of Fiordland is moving east, north-east, and its associated cold front is advancing north over the South Island. Forecasts: CANTERBURY. — Southerly winds fresh about the coast, otherwise moderate; cloudy and cool with occasional rain. NELSON. — Light winds; cloudy with occasional showers; cooler temperatures. MARLBOROUGH. — Fair, mild weather at first with light or moderate northerlie l -; a change to cooler southerlies in the afternoon with showers, the showers more frequent about Kaikoura coast. BULLER, W ESTLAND. — Light or moder ate northeasterlies; cloudy with occasional rain and moderate temperatures. OUTLOOK. — Showers in the east; fan weather elsewhere.
