N.Z. players nominated for France
CN.Z. Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH. ; The Junior All Black, G. Mourie (Wellington), and T. Morrison (Auckland), have been nominated to play in a seven-a-side Rugby tournament in Paris later this month. The French Rugby Union: approached tiie New Zealand union earlier this year with a request that two prominent All Blacks attend the tourna-
ment on behalf of the country. The tournament is being! organised by the Paris Uni-i versify club. The N.Z.R.F.U. secretary ( (Mr J. M. Jeffs) said yester-j day that as the All Blacks] trials and the Australian tour were still being organised at] the time of the request, it] was not possible to have All! Blacks available. The French Union then' asked for two other players. |
It is believed that France has approached other Rugbyplaying countries for players to give the tournament an international flavour.
