Reserved decision

Press Association) DUNEDIN. - Decision on an application by Carpentaria Exploration Pty, Ltd, for a gold-explor-ation licence, was reserved in the Alexandra Magis-i trate’s Court on Thursday,; at the conclusion of a hearing before Mr T. B. Rooney,! S.M. Carpentaria Exploration has applied for five exploration licences in Central Otago covering 917 square miles of the Manuherikia. Ida, and Maniototo basins. Objections to the appliI cation were lodged by. IGriffiths Holdings, Ltd. (Mr |J. E. Govan) and Mr W. T. i Knox, on his own behalf, and on behalf of Milgren Holdings and Frontier Contractors. The hearing lasted for two days. Mr Rooney, in his summary, said that first he was Required to determine if thei iapplication complied with alii ■ the prescribed prerequisites | under section 126 of the! (Mining Act, 1971. He was also required to report to the Minister of Mines (Mr Colman) on the merits of the application.
