V. Korchnoi beat T. Petrosian and took a 2-0 lead in their world chess championship challengers’ semifinal in Odessa. Petrosian resigned before making his 51st move.
In Leningrad, the third game in the second semi-final between B. Spassky and A. Karpov was adjourned on the 45th move.
