A chairman’s chain of office will he bought bv the Waimairi County Council at a cost of not more than $570 The council on Wednesday evening accepted a recommendation to this effect from its finance committee, which reported that it approved of a des.ign submitted bv Mr Kobi Bosshard. of Akarna i who made tne Panama 'County Council’s chain of ; office. The committee, reporting its discussion, said that the (view was expressed that th* ratepayers’ feelings would be mixed. Ct W. T. Ru e said » ribbon and a medallion would be less costi.
