Ersatz turf for hockey
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) CANNES (France). The International Hockey Federation has decided that the next Olympic hockey tournament, in Montreal, will be played on artificial turf. The decision was announced at a meeting in Cannes of the council of the federation. An international tournament will be held on artificial turf at Montreal in July, 1975, one year before the Olympic Games. It was decided to hold a World Cup tournament every four years instead of every two.
The third World Cup tournament will be held in late February, 1975, in Malaysia, some matches to be played in Penang, and the others in Kuala Lumpur. Australia will represent Oceania, but New Zealand will also be able to enter.
