Delay with waggons
(From Our Own Reporter) WESTPORT, March 25.
Difficulty in getting a good, regular turnaround, rather than a shortage of coal waggons, is given as the reason for ample supplies of coal being slow in reaching the east coast from Buller and Greymouth mines. The district manager of the State mines in the Buller area (Mr R. Duggan) said today that this was the explanation given last week at Westport by Mr M. J. Lineham, of the Railways Department’s Dunedin office, when asked about the delay.
