Company not amused

f\'Z Prest Association) TAURANGA, March 25. A parcel sent from Mount Maunganui to Auckland was blown up yesterday when* it was suspected it contained a bomb. But the parcel contained only electrical spares—two ammeters, the property

of New Zealand Dredging and General Works, Ltd. “We are not amused,” the company’s Mount Maunganui representative, Mr P. Lovett, said today about the incident. The parcel was sent by registered mail to Mr H. Pike, the company’s civil engineer, on Monday, March 18. Mr Pike was a guest at an Auckland hotel until the next afternoon, when he returned to Mount Maunganui, Mr Lovett said. As Mr Pike had not signed for or received the parcel, it must have been accepted by someone else at the hotel, said Mr Lovett.
