Third test ‘thrilling’

(N.Z.P.A. Staff Correspondent) SYDNEY. The former top Australian opening batsman, J. Fingleton, yesterday described the third cricket test between Australia and New Zealand as in all ways one of the most thrilling he had seen. Writing in the Melbourne newspaper, the “Age,” Fingleton said the controversial Eden Park pitch was splendid for the third day. The former Australian test captain, R. Benaud, writing in the “Mirror,” of Sydney, said that New Zealand’s lack of top international tompetition showed through in the test. The New Zealanders had no answer to the battering stroke play, brilliant fielding, apd purposeful bowling directed by I. Chappell, said Benaud.
