Iran to lend &US200m
<N Z P A •Reuter--Copyrifjht I WASHINGTON, Marcn 25. The Government of Iran has agreed to lend SUS2OOm to ‘he World Bank, to help to advance the economies of the less developed nations, the President of the Wdr’d Bank (Mr R. McNamara) has disclosed.
The loan is for 12 years at an interest rate of eight per cent a year
Mr McNamara has held talks with the Shah of Iran and with leaders of other oil-rich nat ions on committing part of their huge new oil revenues to help the world’ 1 : poorer countries. “I thinl it is a handsome offer and we are delighted to have it,” Mr McNamara said. .
