VIEWERS’ VIEWS

SPORTS In reply to “Wake Up N.Z.8.C.,” I find the coverage of sport on only one channel is excellent. Your correspondent expressed his “disgust and anger,” but he failed to mention the interruption of the cricket by four races from Wellington. He also mentions English television, but Britain has several channels, and -a viewer possibly could watch Rugby and cricket at the same time. Then how would you jump? I give full credit to the N.Z.B.C. for a very good test coverage. Let us

have a good sporting seieclition. All Round Sport. “THE SERVANT’ ■ With, regard to this film, 'an analogy might be of assistance to “Bewildered.” In ; the forest and bush there a s e Plants which fasten themselves to a host tree for support, and. in the course) of time, destroy the tree. The plants are known as parasites. There are many modern parallels in the; ■ human situation. In our own; ■country we support and en- .■ courage parasite groups which will one day destroy; us if we let them grow un--checked. 1 hope this helps; “Bewildered,” although it is only one aspect of a good, film. •M “THE WALTONS” I suggest to all those anti-: Walton fans that they turni pff their television sets and; get a good book. I’m not ex-1 actly enthralled by the pro-; gramme, but it is better) viewing than watching ai magnificent stag being shot: from a helicopter, a chook. getting its neck rung, or a mother kangaroo, with a baby in her pouch, being) shot.
