U.K. sugar price rise
Britain has agreed in principle to. pay more for its sugar supplies from the Commonwealth Caribbean, under a formula worked out in negotiations after two days of talks between the British Government and a high-level delegation from the Caribbean producer countries. There was no immediate indication of how much Britain was prepared to pay above the current £6l a ton, fixed in the 1971 Commonwealth Sugar Agreement which expires at the end of this year.
