LEADING DRIVERS
Wolfenden in front The Auckland reinsman, P. T. Wolfenden with six wins in a week, has taken a clear lead on the list of successful drivers for the season. Until the latest ruu of sue- i cess by Wolfenden, he and M. | Holmes had see-sawed in the lead. Now’ Wolfenden leads his: southern rival by five, his total being 44. Ln third place, 10 be-1 hind Holmes, is J W. Smolensk!, with 29. The Southland trainer-driver, H. W. Skinner, is enjoying his most successful season, and he is in fourth place with 25 wins, ahead of R. M. Cameron and J. W Langdon, with 19. and D. G. Jones, D. D. Nyhan, and J. A. Carmichael, with 16. The win of Star Dora at the Stratford meeting on Saturday put C. S. Hunter one victory ahead of J. W. Smolensk! on the list of leading trainers. Hunter’s team have now had 26 wins this season. G. B. Noble is in third place, with 21 wins followed by D. D Nyhan, with 17. H. W. Skinner, with 15 and 1. M. Behrns and R. Purdon. with 14.
