Arapaho picked

(From Our Own Reporter.' DUNEDIN. : Arapaho, left struggling in j the wake of Robalan in two | races at Addington Raceway towards the end of last month, Will have his big chance of returning to winning form at Forbury Park tomorrow evening. The New Zealand and Auckland Cups winner will contest the Festival Free-for-all over 2700 m, a race which looks to be made to order for him. Arapaho has had a chance to| freshen a little since his Addington race, when he looked a shade' tired. He showed the benefit off a short let up when he raced to advantage at the Amberley matinee meeting on Wednesday., and should strip in great heart for this race. A win for Arapaho is by no means a foregone conclusion, as’ C. J. McLaughlin's pair, Royal i Ascot and Manawaru, have! thrown out hints of an early re-' turn to peak form, which could prove to be little inferior to that of J W. Smolcnski’s representative.

PLACE PROSPECTS Scottish Charm. Adies Adieu Bomber Bill and Fab have shown to advantage in their races on the first two nights at Forbury! Park and all are entitled to con-J .sideration, at least as place pros pects. However, thev will need; more than a little luck to finish* in front of Arapaho and Royal 1 Ascot. A rather ordinary lot of C 6 and! C 7 horses will contest the- sec-1

lend Ice, till- MornlliKton Pace. •As was the case in a similar race on Wednesday, there is plenty of room for an upset. King’s Row missed racing on Wednesday after an unlucky fifth on the 'first night of the meeting. He (could be one of the better chances, while Adios Ned, too. could be a danger. He had little in his favour in the final stages of his race on Wednesday, after being handy all the way, and (firth was the best he rould manj Cornwallis received a splendid run to the straight on Wednes- ’ day, but rather surprisingly, he tired a shade to finish sixth. [That v> as his first race since January 18. and he may be tire better for the run. A peak effort ! would put him in the finish. OTHERS WITH CHANCE I Hobart Lord. Lev ana, Ripolct. [Star Curst, Stereo Light and General Demand have gone well I enough in their races at the ; meeting to he considered as winning prospects, while Thursa |could well surprise.
