Obituary MR K. H. BARTLETT

A member of the Christ-, church Transport. Board and! the president of the Royal i Commonwealth Society, Mr Kenneth Hardwicke Bartlett, died in Christchurch this! week, aged 69. i Mr Bartlett was elected to. The board in 1965, and al-1 j though defeated at. the 1971 [elections was later co-opted, Ito replace a retiring member, i ' He was a leading city! [jeweller and a past president! [of the Jewellers’ Association' jof New Zealand. He was a’ | former member of the Ric-I carton Borough Council and also a past president of the [Elmwood Bowling Club and the Christchurch Lions Club. Although Mr Bartlett was nterested primarily in civic iffairs, he took a keen inter■st in overseas affairs. ! He was a prime mover in netting up a scholarship scheme in New Zealand for Fijian children and was involved for many years with the Royal Commonwealth Society. He was an elder of the Knox Presbyterian Church in Christchurch. ! Mr Bartlett is survived by his wife and two children.
