Maister fit?
B. J. Maister. one of New Zealand’s key players, should be fit for the international hockey tournament which begins tomorrow. The New Zealand coach (Mr J. R. Gillespie), said last evening he was very hopeful Maister would be able to play, if not in the first, then in later matches. The sprained ankle Maister suffered in a match against Poland at Masterton earlier this week, has improved, and yesterday he gave it a hard work-out in a training run at Ham. He showed few effects of the injury and a decision will be made this afternoon whether he will be fit to take ;his place in the team.
