TIMARU DISPUTE Meat to be moved

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Feb. 7. The National Union of Railwaymen had decided to resume the movement of frozen meat to Timaru wharves immediately, the union’s general secretary (Mr N. A. Collins) said tonight. Mr Collins said the decision had been taken “in the light of the latest information received” from the Cool Store Workers’ Union and the freezing workers. The N.U.R. has been officially involved in the meat loading dispute since Friday, when the Cool Store Workers’ Union asked it to observe the ban it had placed on frozen meat being moved to ships at Timaru wharves.
