A SECOND PRINTING
The first printing of the official pictorial review of the Xth Commonwealth Games, published by the Christchurch Press Company, has been completelv sold. Announcing this yesterday, the acting general manager of the company (Mr R. A. Barker) said that the first 50,000 copies had “sold like hot cakes,” and the company had ordered another 20,000 copies from the printer, Bascands, Ltd. Mr Barker said that the rush of orders since Friday
of last week had tempor-
arily outstripped the company’s capacity to meet the demand. An augmented staff had worked long hours—even yesterday, a statutory holiday—to catch up with the orders. Apart from orders received in yesterday’s later mails, all orders so far received had now been attended to. “The second printing will be completed next week, and orders received from today will be met from that printing. If the second printing, too, is a ’sell-out,' late applicants will have their money returned,’’ said Mr Barker.
