Presbyterian appointment
The Rev. L. Jones, funner minister of St Paul'- 11init - Pacific Presbyterian Church has been appointed minister at a co-operative parish at Fairhe. He will be inducted minister of St Colomba's on February 28, The Rev. .1. I'. Edgar will be appointed interim moderator of St Paul’s. At St Colomba's, Mr Jones will be in sole charge of Anglicans, Presbyterians, and members of other denominations. in an area from Fairlie to Mount Cook. He has replaced the Rev K. Davy (Anglican), who has been appointed to Amberles Mr Jones has served at St Paul's for 10 years, four of which he shared with the Rev. K. Faletoese. after the Trinity Congregational Church amalgamated with St Paul’s Presbyterian Church in December. 1969 It was in this context that his preference for ecumeni cal work was developed The co-operative parish at Fairlie was an opportunity to (serve in the kind of work h--enjoyed most. Mr Jones said yesterday. At St Colomba's he will be both Anglican priest, and Presbyterian minister, con ducting both forms of service (separately.
