One of the early licensed I restaurants in Christchurch, j (the Charles, will shift to new 1 premises at the end of this month after more than 10 [years at its present Cashel ( 'Street address. The building occupied by the Charles will be pulled'
down in March and the restaurant will close its doors I there at. the end of February. The new premises are in the El Paseo Arcade in Lichfield: (street. Mr A. Alexander, the man-i ager of the Charles since I (October, 1972, said last even-! (ing it was hoped the new I ■.restaurant would be opened! .in the first or second week, [of March, the exact date be-! [ing dependant upon the! [transfer of the liquor licence.! Although the new premises! were slightly bigger and more! [modern than the present! restaurant, the same decor 'and atmosphere would be re/, tained, he said.
