Privy Council meeting
WELLINGTON, Feb. 4. The Prime Minister (Mr Kirk) and a judge of the Court of Appeal, Sir Clifford Richmond, were sworn in on
Monday evening as members of the Privy Council. The ceremony took place at Government House when the Queen presided over a . meeting of the council. Mr Kirk, who was Acting Lord President of the Council, was summoned first to the Queen, and other Privy i Councillors came forward in ; order of seniority — thei, former Prime Minister, Sir)' Keith Holyoake, the Leader) of the Opposition (Mr Mar-) shall), the Chief Justice (Sir Richard Wild), three judges, Sir Alfred North. Sir Thaddeus McCarthy and Sir Alexander Turner, the Queen’s Private Secretary (Sir Martin Charteris), and Sir Clifford Richmond.
