BLAST IN MINE Man badly hurt
WESTPORT. Feb 5 A West port contractor wa< rushed to Buller Hospital late this afternoon alter an explosion in the private coal mine at Charleston He is ■William McLoughlan, aged 154. Mr McLoughlan suffeted the tnluries when a stick of (gelignite he had set exploded (while he was near the coal face. A spokesman al the Bullet Hospital said tonight that Mr .McLoughlan suffered eye tn ‘juries, and it was suspected .that coal pellets were lodged (in his body. His condition is fair. Mr McLoughlan will be flown to the Christchurch Public Hospital tomorrow
