‘Steady growth by banks’
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Feb. 5. The 12 New Zealand trus[tee banks recorded steady igrowth for the year ended December 31, 1973, said the secretary of the Associated Trustee Savings Banks (Mr F. R. Burns) today. Depositors’ funds had grown from ss6Bm to $703.5m (about 20 per cent) in the year and the number of depositors with the banks had risen from 1.5 m to just over 1.6 m (up 8 per cent). Additional services offered during the year included personal loans to customers. Since April, sl.Bm had been lent.
