TROTTING Change of luck for D.G. Jones
(from Our Own Reporter! NELSON. Get Time brought an overdue change of fortune for her Templeton trainer D. G. Jones when ine finished best in slushy conditions in the Integrity Feeds Handicap at Richmond Park dayGet Time raced in about fifth position until approaching the home turn, when she gradually overhauled Black Pan, the breaking Local Beau and Hunting Prince. Racing to the furlong she forged to the front and staved off a strong challenge from Bon Heur, which had moved up fast from well back passing the 800 metres. She held on by half a length while Hunting Prince which had every chance was beaten off by four lengths with another three lengths to Eten Step, which was well back in the early itages.
Martial Salute did not appear j to relish the conditions and took no part in the contest. Ryal Anne justified her long • trip from Wyndham when she ' handled the wet track best in the • Bowater Motor Stakes, the second leg of the double in which • there were numerous scratchings on account of the state of the i track. s Ryal Anne made a smart bf-; ■. ginning but soon settled into a -trail. Turning for home the ; Gentry—Tactless filly followed Redwood Lass in her third break e and Scottish Chat. Count Laverne: i had also become prominent after] '. being at the rear of the field over t the first 800 metres. 0 Ryal Anne assumed command a at the furlong and fought off e Count Laverne by a length with] - Scottish Chat struggling in for] ■ third place ten lengths back. Me-] '.■Oscar which was handy throughv out was a poor fourth eight .lengths away.
