N.Z. singer in New York
The New Zealand opera star. Kiri Te Kanawa, has settled in to a New York apartment to prepare for her debut at the Metropolitan Opera next month. She will sing the role of Desdemona in the Met’s production of ‘•Othello,’’ beginning on March 7. Two further performances of the opera will be staged and during her” time in New York Miss Te Kanawa will' give a concert performance, at Long Island. New Zealand consular! officials in the city helped! Miss Te Kanawa settle in to! her apartment, and a member of the staff, Miss Rose Anne McLeod, is staying with her. I
