More sharks at port
After the sighting of five sharks by boys fishing at the moles, near Lyttelton’s inner harbour entrance yesterday morning the pilot cutter Wairangi made a brief reconnaissance trip, but made no more sightings. SeniorSergeant C. G. Evans said that bathers had been warned at Diamond Harbour and Corsair Bay. Warm weather was bringing sharks closer to shore, he said. Yesterday’s sighting was the second in the last few days.
