TAYLER HAS RUN
(N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN. R. Tayler, New Zealand's 10.000 metre gold medallist at the Commonwealth Games was the star attraction when he ran at a special athletics meeting in Alexandra last night. Tayler Won the 5000 metres despite a foot injury, and he was mobbed by hundreds ol young admirers when he nairowly beat E. Robertson, also of New Zealand into first place. Tayler ran in third place for much of the race, trailing Robertson and J. Campbell of Otago. Tayler and Robertson crossed the tape with less than two yards separating them, but other runners who were behind the first three placegetters had diff.cultv finishing the race because of the large number of apectators on the track. Several African athletes who competed at the Games were also at the meeting. The meeting was the first to be held at the new $250,000 sporting stadium at Molyneux Park.
