Protestants’ appeal
I (A.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) BELFAST, Feb. 4. The Protestant extremist Ulster Volunteer Force has appealed to Protestants and ■ Roman Catholics alike to : “forgive and forget.” ’[ The organisation, which adqmits that it has been behind '(much of the Protestant- ' initiated violence in Ulster, says that its leaders now [ believe that the days of the ' gun and the bomb are over. ; “First and foremost, the people of Ulster must realise that, sooner or later, they are i going to have to live « together,” a statement from the force says.
