Price of whisky
DUNEDIN, Feb. 4 ! Sources in the Dunedin j liquor trade expect locally made "45 South” whisky to (retail at $4.75 a bottle. Excise duty on the whisky ■ has been fixed at $13.25 a I proof gallon—s4.7s less than ‘the rate for imported whiskies. Wilson Distillers, Ltd imaker of the whisky, has -given the wholesale price to I liquor merchants, but has declined to release the price for publication. Wholesalers are expected to announce their retail prices later this week. “Wilson's” whisky, the I company’s premium brand, is 'expected to retail at $5.20 a Jbattle. The. expected retail prices are higher than liquor trade sources originally expected
