Mixed moves on dull Austraian exchanges
The Australian stock market closed on a mixed note in generally dull trading conditions yesterday. Volume was relatively low.
On the mining boards, the C.R.A. group profited from the record earnings by Bougainville with a 10c jump to 234 c and a 3c gain by C.R.A. at 348 c. B.H. Sth gained 5c to 245 c and North B.H. was 2c better at 142 c. Poseidon recorded a 40c fall at 630 c and Cons Goldfields dropped 10c to 340 c. Endeavour rose 3c to 26c and Ampol advanced 2c to 124 c and Santos improved the same amount at 120 c. However. Woodside-Bur-mah sold 3c lower at 165 c. Jennings reacted to the bonus issue with a 30c jump to 265 c, and the banks moved strongly ahead. B.H.P. was 12c lower at 788 c.
