Oil slick stopped
An oil slick from the Australian frigate H.M.A.S. Anzac was dispersed on Saturday morning as it moved towards the Royal Yacht Britannia. The Lyttelton Harbour Board launch, using detergent, dispersed the slick by late morning. The Harbourmaster (Captain D. Holden) said that the oil was dispersed well before it reached the Royal Yacht and there was no danger to the ship. “It was just one of those accidents which happen from time to time,” Captain Holden said. !
