REDUCTION IN COSTS

The committee of the Australian Jockey Club and directors of the Sydney Turf Club announced on Saturday that the cost of racing a horse In the metropolitan area would be substantially reduced. It will now cost owners up to $l3 less to race a horse on Sydney courses. The clubs will pay the Insurance fee of $3 per mount for jockeys, and will waive all acceptance fees for races worth $6OOO or less. The reduced cost will be welcomed by owners who have been agitating for some time for relief of expenses from the clubs. The new’ system will take effect from March 1.
