Apollo Eleven’s campaign

(N.Z. Press Association AUCKLAND. Last year’s champion stayer, Apollo Eleven, will have the first start of his new campaign at Te Rapa on February 16, in preparation for an attempt to win his second Sydney Cup. He will contest either the 1400 m Thibenbole International Sprint or the 2200 m New Zealand International Invitation Stakes, depending on how he does in the meantime. “I am fully confident at this stage,” said his owner, Mr J. D. Foote, “that his leg will stand up to it. B. F. Andrews will be his rider; I don't think you could wedge him off.” The most interesting of the Auckland and Waikato entries for the autumn racing in Sydney is that of Testamoss for the Australasian Championship Stakes. A month ago, Testamoss was still a maiden. Since then, he has had wins at Avondale and Ellerslie.
