Ballet music problem
(xV.Z. Press Association NEW PLYMOUTH. Jan. 31. Six New Plymouth dancers will be in for some intensive last-minute practice if their ballet choreographer, Miss Pam Revell, cannot find a replacement record. The record is required to provide backing of a modern ballet at the Royal concert to be attended by Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips at the Bowl of Brooklands on Tuesdav afternoon.
The schoolgirl dancers trained consistently to the record, “Concert Favourites” (Wilhelm Schuler conducting the Nordwestdeutche Phili harmonic Orchestra with I Hans Heinmann) before the j holidays, and were to have had a final practice on the day of the performance. However the record owned by Miss Revell is badly scratched and not suitable for reproduction through the bowl’s powerful amplifying system. Miss Revell has almost exhausted the sources from which she might obtain the record and said today if she could not obtain a copy the girls would have to rehearse hard to perfect their dancing to an altered arrangement on their return from holiday.
