City Mission street appeal today
The Anglican City Mission needs at least $lOO.OOO for a new night shelter. Today it hopes to receive §5OOO in its annual street appeal to put towards this cause.
The new shelter, to be built on the present Hereford site, will replace the (two houses’’ containing administrative quarters and the (present complex of 16 beds. I “The houses are past repairing and totally inadequate for the demands made upon them,’’ said Mr A. W. Meneer, treasurer for the City Mission, yesterday. The new shelter will contain 26 beds, and facilities to expand to 30, two flats for ' the manager and assistant manager of the shelter and their wives, and administrative quarters and dining space.
