Derry violence
A Northern Ireland police reservist died yesterday, having been shot while on duty in Londonderry the night before. Another reservist was wounded in the incident, in which three youths opened fire in a street. A post office was damaged during the night when a carbomb exploded in Castlebar, about 20 miles south of Londonderry, but there were no serious injuries.—Londonderry, January 31,
