Indian team supporter protests to Minister
There was a sensation in the light heavy-weight division of the wrestling tournament last evening after an Indian, Netra Pal, was disqualified for passive wrestling, in his bout against Terry Paice (Canada).
This virtually gave Paice the gold medal, and caused an Indian in the crowd to rush up to the Minister of Recreation and Sport (Mr Wald-
ing) in the front row of seats, and threaten to withdraw the Indian team.
But the man, who also approached wrestling officials, refused to give his name to reporters, saying he was not associated with the Indian team.
The Indian wrestling team manager, Mr D. P. Chand, said later that India would not make a formal protest about the disqualification,
